There are no evidence that vitamin C obstruct a cold. On the other hand an american study with 19 000 participants state that vitamin D increase the immune system. Our most important sources to vitamin D is fat fish, enrich dairy products and the sun.

In the next number of Archives of Internal Medicine an investigation will be presented which show its likely the vitamin D that increase the immune system, rather than vitamin C.
The article state that among those with lowest content of vitamin D were 40 % more who recently had a respiratory ill-health, compared with those with higher contents. The number is adjust for smoking, BMI, age and other basic health factors.
People who already had cronic respiratory disorder like asthma or KOL, the relation was even stronger. The study indicate that vitamin D make a big difference for the immune system.
The study is far from the first one that indicate that vitamin D matter for our health more than researchers and physiologist have known. Lack of vitamin D among others have been connected to increased risk for cancer, cardiac disease and vascular discorder, diabetes and early death.
